You should be seeing an icon of a jug pouring a liquid in the instrument cluster. If you see a wrench at the same time, it indicates a problem with the AdBlue/DEF system. Most likely cause is they neglected to refill DEF at the last service. 1.5 gallons = 5.7 liters. 5 gallons = 20 liters.
The mighty Touareg drank DEF like a drunk sailor, but quickly returned to its normal Post-fix range of 8000 miles before Ad Blu warning appeared. All they needed to do was put an adblue fill near the fuel fill like the Q7, with some real way of monitoring consumption in their menu system.
\n how to reset adblue warning vw passat 2012
Hi Mark, I own a 2015 Golf Sportwagon TDI that didn't sell new until 2017, after they'd reached the dieselgate settlement. About a month ago, the AdBlue system failed to reset after refilling and the countdown, "engine won't start in x miles" got perilously close to 0 miles before any dealerships would fit me in (not my local one either).

I've been impressed by the ability of the low tire pressure warning. It has in the past come on when the tire looked fine but was in fact leaking slowly. I have reset the warning light in the past and I did try different methods of resetting as suggested above. No luck. The light comes on and flashes, then stays on. Multiple attempts have failed.

LGnbK.
