Farcry 5 has the most realistic aspect out of the other farcry games. It's not as farfetched as a pirate man that rules over an island. Or a Tyrant that rules over an island. Or a president that rules over an island. It's a about a cult growing, expanding, poisoning the minds of its followers. Awaiting a collapse.
FC5, likely because it is set in America, does not paint any of your allies in a negative light. Unlike previous games there is a clear divide. The bad guys are really bad, the good guys are all good. So to have a "your actions didn't matter" ending requires a third party, and that comes out of nowhere. 15.

Second time playing. didn't finish final mission first time due a distraction. Just finished it. every far cry game has a bad ending usually involving the lesser of two evils. This one did not, it just ended bad. Not only that, every game except FC1 is somewhat possible. FC2 was horrible warlord situation in Africa. FC3 was weird situation with remote South Pacific island. FC4 was based on wMkC.
